It all began in 2014 when our founder Birgit Dekkers began researching the technological opportunities of plant-based proteins and how to create textures with them. In 2019, Rival Foods was founded and since then partners and employees worked tirelessly on the development and commercialization of our plant-based meat alternatives, driven by the need to restore our food system. In 2024, Rival Foods established its first large-scale production site to deliver the next generation of plant-based meat alternatives to business clients around the globe — demonstrating that, in contrast to other emerging solutions, our technology is built to meet consumer needs while offering high scalability.
With the unveiling of our new FSSC 22000 certified production site, we’re scaling up our mission: bringing delicious, next-generation plant-based meat to more people around the world.
